Billing, Trials, and Refunds

Last updated: May 27, 2026

How to use this page

Receipts, purchase history, subscription management, and refund requests depend on where you bought your subscription, not only on the device you are currently using. This page summarises the practical flow; the authoritative terms of sale are in our Terms and Conditions, in particular Section 8 (Subscriptions and Payments).

1. How billing works

FormChase uses different billing channels depending on the purchase flow.

Apple and Google act as the merchants of record for these purchases. That means they collect payment, handle VAT where applicable, issue the purchase confirmation, and archive your billing history in their platform accounts. FormChase does not store your card number, IBAN, or other payment credentials, and does not provide one universal in-app invoice archive across platforms.

2. Apple App Store purchases

For iOS purchases, Apple generally handles receipts, purchase history, subscription management, and refund requests.

3. Google Play purchases

For Android purchases, Google Play generally handles order history, subscription management, and refund requests.

4. Prices and VAT

Prices are displayed in the app with any applicable VAT included, per Article 6 of Romanian Emergency Ordinance 34/2014 ("OUG 34/2014") on consumer rights in distance contracts. The final amount charged to you by Apple or Google is the amount you see on the purchase sheet before you confirm, including any platform-side VAT handled by the store in your jurisdiction.

About our VAT status: FormChase is operated by a Romanian PFA (Persoană Fizică Autorizată, a sole-proprietor legal form). The PFA is a "special regime for small enterprises" (regim special pentru întreprinderi mici) below the turnover threshold set by Article 310 of the Romanian Fiscal Code (Legea 227/2015), meaning we do not charge VAT ourselves on the fees we receive from Apple and Google. VAT charged to you at the App Store / Play Store level is collected by Apple or Google as merchants of record according to their own tax rules and your country's VAT regime.

5. Receipts and invoices

The email confirmation sent to you by Apple or Google (usually titled "Your receipt from Apple" or "Order receipt from Google Play") is the durable-medium confirmation of your purchase within the meaning of Article 8 of OUG 34/2014. We recommend you keep it for your records; for iOS you can also re-download it from your Apple purchase history at any time. We do not issue separate fiscal invoices in the app for consumer App Store / Play Store purchases, because the merchant of record is Apple or Google — not FormChase.

If you need an invoice for a PFA or company (e.g. for corporate reimbursement or accounting), request it directly from Apple or Google through their own invoice-request flows. They are the legal counterparty to the sale.

6. Auto-renewal and cancellation

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each monthly billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, which means you keep access until that period ends, and you are not charged for the next period.

To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date in your App Store / Play Store account. This 24-hour window reflects Apple's and Google's own processing policies; we cannot override it because we are not the merchant of record. If you cancel inside that window and a renewal still posts, request a refund directly from the store (see Sections 2 and 3 above).

7. 14-day withdrawal right (distance contracts)

As a consumer in the EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under OUG 34/2014, which transposes Directive 2011/83/EU. Because FormChase is a paid digital service that starts delivering content immediately upon purchase, this right is extinguished once the service performance has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the withdrawal right (Article 16(m) OUG 34/2014). The App Store and Play Store confirmation flows capture that consent.

If performance has not yet begun, or if the store's flow did not capture the required consent, you may exercise the statutory withdrawal right by using the model withdrawal form in our Terms, Section 8.8, or by any other clear statement sent to contact@formchase.com.

8. 30-day free trial before first paid renewal

Eligible first-time subscribers may be offered a store-managed 30-day free trial. Trial users unlock paid features during the trial, but the trial period itself is 0 RON cash revenue for FormChase. Unless you cancel in your App Store / Play Store subscription settings before the trial ends, the trial converts to the monthly paid plan you selected at the renewal price shown by the store.

After a paid charge posts, refund eligibility and processing are handled by Apple or Google as the merchant of record. FormChase cannot directly issue, approve, or guarantee App Store or Google Play refunds or invoices. We can help investigate access problems in FormChase if your active store subscription is not reflected in the app.

9. Conformity and remedies for digital services

If a bug, outage, or storage failure causes loss or corruption of the content you paid for during an active paid subscription, Romanian law (OUG 140/2021, transposing Directive (EU) 2019/770 on digital content and services) gives you the right to ask us to bring the Service back into conformity within a reasonable period, at no cost to you. If we cannot, you may claim a proportionate price reduction or terminate the contract and receive a refund for the affected period. These statutory remedies are not subject to the liability cap in our Terms; see Sections 14.2 and 15.3 of the Terms.

10. Complaints and dispute resolution

If something still feels wrong after you have contacted us and, where applicable, the App Store or Play Store, you can escalate to Romanian consumer-protection bodies:
