Cookie and Local Storage Policy

1. Introduction
This Cookie and Local Storage Policy explains how FormChase uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our application and website. We are committed to transparency about the data we store on your device.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember information about your visit. They are commonly used for:
- Remembering your login status
- Storing your preferences
- Tracking usage for analytics
3. Our Approach: No HTTP Cookies
Unlike many websites and applications, we have chosen not to use HTTP cookies on this website and in our apps, as we operate them. This means:
- No tracking cookies set by us or by third parties we include
- No advertising cookies
- No cross-site tracking
- No cookie consent banner required at this time
Scope of this statement: this position holds for as long as our mobile apps and web build use only the strictly-necessary local storage described in Section 4. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies or third-party trackers on the web build (for example, product analytics running in the browser), we will show a prior opt-in consent banner as required by the EU ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC, Article 5(3)) and Romanian Law 506/2004, and we will update this policy before that change goes live.
4. What We Use Instead: Local Storage
FormChase uses local storage (specifically, AsyncStorage on mobile devices and localStorage on web browsers) to store necessary data directly on your device. This section describes what the app stores on your device. Unless a subsection below says otherwise (analytics events after you opt in, Section 4.2, and crash reports, Section 4.3), this data never leaves your device unless you explicitly sync it.
4.1 Essential Local Storage
We store the following data locally for the Service to function:

4.2 Analytics Session Data
If you turn on product analytics, we store:

Important: Session IDs are randomly generated locally and cannot identify you personally. Analytics data is sent to our analytics provider (EU servers) only after you opt in to product analytics. Our analytics provider does not receive your name, email, location, or any health/fitness data.
4.3 Crash Reporting (Sentry)
The app includes crash reporting (Sentry). It stores a small amount of diagnostic state on your device (for example, whether the previous session ended in a crash and a queue of pending crash reports). If the app crashes, a crash report is sent to Sentry so we can diagnose and fix the problem. Crash reporting runs in production builds only, and personal data is scrubbed from reports before they leave the device.
5. Third-Party Cookies and Tracking
5.1 Product Analytics
If you turn on Product Analytics in FormChase, we use PostHog EU to understand how features are used and improve the Service. This provider:
- Stores data on EU servers
- Does NOT use HTTP cookies in FormChase; it uses local app or browser storage only after you opt in
- Does NOT collect location data
- Does NOT receive your name, email, or health/fitness data
- Receives only: screen views, feature usage events, device type, OS version, app version
FormChase does NOT integrate:
- Google Analytics
- Facebook Pixel
- Advertising networks
- Social media tracking
6. How to Manage Local Storage
6.1 Mobile Apps (iOS/Android)
To clear FormChase local storage on mobile:
- Go to your device Settings
- Find FormChase in the app list
- Select "Clear Data" or "Clear Cache"
Note: Clearing data will log you out and remove offline data.
6.2 Web Browser
To clear FormChase local storage on web:
Chrome:
- Open Developer Tools (F12)
- Go to Application → Local Storage
- Right-click formchase.com and select "Clear"
Firefox:
- Open Developer Tools (F12)
- Go to Storage → Local Storage
- Right-click formchase.com and select "Delete All"
Safari:
- Open Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Search for formchase
- Select and remove
6.3 In-App Options
You can also manage your data through the app:
- Log out: Clears session data
- Delete account: Removes all data immediately (limited legal retention applies - see the Delete Account page)
7. Do Not Track (DNT)
FormChase respects Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. Since we don't use third-party tracking cookies, your DNT preference is effectively honored by default.
8. Children's Privacy
FormChase is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly store data from children under 16.
9. Consent Withdrawal
The app includes optional product analytics, which is off by default. Any analytics storage beyond the strictly essential items in Section 4.1 is used only after you give explicit opt-in consent in the app; if you opt in, PostHog EU stores the items listed in Sections 4.2 and 5.1. You can withdraw that consent at any time from the app's privacy settings; see our Privacy Policy, Section 7 (Your Rights). Withdrawing consent stops future analytics storage and triggers deletion of the local analytics queue on your device.
10. Complaints
If you believe our use of cookies or local storage breaches Romanian Law 506/2004 (transposing ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC) or the GDPR, you can file a complaint with the Romanian data-protection authority:
